The Margarita & Taco Festival is the loosest of the three events that use Roma Street, and it’s the one that makes clearest how different this street is from a typical festival weekend elsewhere: nobody is driving in for it, because the people around the corridor already live there.

For a family renting Hail Mary House for the year, it’s a low-key Saturday — walk down, get tacos, let the kids run around the Town Center green, walk home before anyone gets cranky. For a snowbird household there for the season, it’s one more thing that makes January through April feel less like a long vacation and more like an actual chapter of life in a town that does this sort of thing regularly.

None of this is a reason to book a weekend here — Maple Ridge’s rules don’t allow it, and we wouldn’t offer it if they did. It’s simply what “a ten-minute walk to everything in Ave Maria” actually includes a few times a year.

See the winter season page or the Ave Maria area guide for more on life in town.
