Blues, Brews & BBQ closes down Roma Street for a weekend, and the corridor that Hail Mary House sits on turns into the town’s biggest gathering of the year — live music, barbecue smoke drifting over the lake, and a crowd that, unlike a beach-town festival, is mostly people who live within walking distance of where they’re standing.
From the lanai, you get the music before you get the crowd. Most residents wander down for a couple of hours rather than committing to the whole day — because when the event is a five-minute walk instead of a drive and a parking search, there’s no reason to over-commit. Go for the band you like, come home, go back later if you want to.
It’s worth saying plainly: this is a resident perk, not a reason to book a weekend stay. Maple Ridge’s thirty-night minimum means Hail Mary House isn’t available for the festival weekend on its own — but if you’re here for a season or a year, Blues, Brews & BBQ is simply one of the things that happens on your street.
